What a day!
It started out with a few bizarre dreams. Including one where I was living in what appeared to be a duplix... or at least a small multi unit place (maybe 4 units). When I got home I noticed all sorts of new flowers blooming. This is somewhat a mirror of real life, though I don't have snapdragons actually blooming yet, and I didn't plant pansy - both were in my dreams. There also was a sign on my window that said something like "your rent is due". I don't rent - I own. I planned on replacing the sign with another sign that stated that fact - thinking that the sign was supposed to have been placed on my neighbors window.
but when I went to do that I discovered the sign was on the INSIDE of the window. Fearing someone had broken in, I went inside. The door was at the bottom of a staircase (an arrangement I hate in RL btw.) I couldn't find anything missing, but there was a window open.
And more then open, it was completely out of the frame. It didn't look easily fixable and I thought that I needed to call someone to fix it. Then I thought - what about my cats!
I discovered both the guys - Orange and Jay inside the place... but the girls, Onyx and Missy had escaped through the window! (Interesting note, though the "house" was completely different, all my pets (cats anyway - I didn't check the others) were accurate- this isn't always the case, sometimes I'll dream about pets long gone, other times I'll have pets I never owned.)
I managed to get Missy in, but while I was doing that - I lost track of Onyx. There seemed to be an unusual amount of people milling around outside as well. At that point I woke up.
Then I did a few things around the house and got ready to go to the gym. As I have been sick on and off and have this stupid persistent cough, I have been avoiding the gym. Though I'm supposed to be in this contest. (12 weeks) - anyway I knew there was a challenge for this week and I forgot to check what it was. I remembered that in the beginning when I signed up they gave me some examples of challenges. One example was to bring in a label from a favorite food item. Well... I thought - they hadn't done that yet and there are only a few more weeks - so I grabbed a carnation instant breakfast label and off I went.
I guessed right! That was the challenge for this week. :) lol. Next week is 4 days of cardo - you must chart it. Ugh. Oh well at least it wasn't this week, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to complete it.
Then I went home, took a lunch break and set about going outside to do some weeding. I know it's officially spring now... but it's still been VERY VERY warm for March! It was high 70s today, and it will be again tomorrow. The downside - we had a wetter then normal February- and now we are having a dryer then normal March - and everything is budding and blooming! It's too early! (at least here). I mean the bulbs are ok - but everything else shouldn't be doing this until I THINK a month from now. I hope we don't get a good snowstorm (which can still happen in April or May)
After that I got cleaned up and ready to go out with my parents and brother and sil for my parents' 50th anniversary dinner.
I called the restaurant (bonefish grill) that we had reservations at - and asked if I could do a gift card over the phone. I couldn't but... the manager said he'd take my CC number and then when I came in I could prove who I was and he'd run the card. I gave my parents' 50 toward dinner. :)
However, what was supposed to happen is the server was supposed to card us - the manager said everyone was carded (if you buy alcohol) that didn't happen. And I couldn't find a way to get away from the table. I had thought about going to the restroom - but we were seated across the room from it. There was no way I could go around to the host station from there without being obvious. So I thought - ok I'll wait until we get the check and go from there.
Well the manager surprised us... as I had mentioned my parents' anniversary to him over the phone, he came out with dessert of chocolate covered strawberries with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. He also presented the gift card! So I was able to show my id and then sign the paper.
My parents decided to use it at a future date though- instead of toward tonight's dinner. That's ok. :)
I had the Ahi tuna sashimi as an appetizer - which is raw fish without the rice. To me all raw fish is "sushi" but apparently there is a difference. Here is one site that explains it: http://www.food-info.net/uk/qa/qa-fp140.htm
It was very good. Out of all the types I've tried, I like tuna the best. It tastes fine without putting other stuff on it. (IE soy sauce, wasabi etc) Though this dish was done with a light sauce.
Then I ordered "sirloin with crab cake" But I upgraded to the filet mignon (which if I didn't use google to spell check I could have typed something like Flayed minion...) In fact the spell check for firefox wants to correct Mignon to Minion.... but it's spelled Mignon on a bunch of sites so I think that's right. :)
That was very good too. One of the cuts of steak I'll eat without A1 steak sauce.
We talked a bit about our upcoming vacation (Cruise to Hawaii - parents' treat. :D ) and then called it a night.
I've been playing a few facebook games to wind down. :) About time for bed.
