Hellos everyone!
Ok catch up time.
you know I should read past blog posts to recall what I said.
Oh well.
Did I mention I had an electrical problem? Well I did. I tried changing a can light in my kitchen using a long arm type tool- it worked on the other lights.... anyway I pulled the socket down instead of the light. It wasn't up there correctly. The next day I had a handyman over to discuss fixing some stuff.... while he was there I had him change the bulb and put the socket back... but when I flipped the light on it went Buzzzt buzzzt zap - off.
I went EEK. and tryed again.... this time I heard crackling in the wall. So - off to contact the electrician. (Handyman guy knows basic wiring but is not an electrician. Now I use a single guy type of service (although there are two now) so I was trying to avoid calling a big name person - but I admit it was a little annoying to get "oh R can come out Wed." " oh no wait he can't I'll email you tomorrow about Fri or Sat" and so on.
I ended up taping the switch because I accidentally flipped it and it sparked scaring me. I didn't want to flip it again.
So about 2 weeks later (on Monday actually) the guy was finally able to come out. Both the socket and the switch was bad - but the wiring in between tested fine. So he put in new switches (there are 4 on the wall and it was best to replace all 4 and I don't think they charged me much for the parts) and he replaced the socket and the metal piece that's supposed to hold the socket in place - it was the wrong type.
took him an hour and I was charged 110. Which I understand isn't that bad. :)
I also got my fence fixed... though the handyman guy was supposed to finish Wed and finished Thurs instead. I told him I wouldn't be home until late Thurs and he said that was ok - he could get together with me some other time. --- I haven't paid him yet- he doesn't have paypal. He doesn't seem concerned though. He's told me that people have taken 3 months to pay him before.
I know he does commercial landscaping so I'm sure he's getting plenty of revenue from other sources.
I'm still coughing - have phlegm issues. I think my cold ran into allergies... we are having a higher then normal tree pollen count lately. Everything is budding out... I think it's about a month too early! It's going to be really really warm this weekend... temps more suited for May or June then March. I think we are going to get close to 80. So I'm going to try working on my garden a bit.
My parents' 50th anniversary is tomorrow and so we are all going out to eat at this place called the bonefish grill. I'll let you know how I like it. (or not) . I know there are at least three appetizers I'd love to try.
Until next time....
