The Windy city.

(1:40 pm)
Huh.  Just opened up the blinds in my "Great room" (My tongue in cheek description of an addition the previous owners tacked on to the house.- extra 400 sq ft, use it as a kitchen/office/general area)

I noticed there was a big blue thing in the corner of my yard by the lilac bush with some snow on it.    I thought "Did I leave a blanket out there?"   So I popped on some shoes on and a coat and went out there.

Looks like someone's tarp blew into my yard.  It has rings on it so may have been a boat cover or swimming pool cover.   It was ripped to shreds and who knows where it came from so I just tossed it.

I did find a flashlight I left out there the last time I stargazed --- in the beginning of January.   It still works, cool.

I'll "publish" this a little later.

9:00 pm

Well I'm back from dinner.

Prior to leaving this afternoon I noticed that THREE of my kitties were all curled up in my big front window. In a line.  Missy,Onyx and then Jay.   Which is cool 'cause it shows Missy is getting along much better with the "kittens" (though both now out weigh her they are still under 1 year old).

I went over to my parent's house before church because they are out of town and my mom wanted me to check on the kitties and read the notes from the pet sitter.  (one of their cats doesn't like me and has medical issues so mom has always used a sitter... that and normally when they go on vacation I'm with them.)

Anyway I did that.  I didn't like that the food bowl was all the way full... thought mom didn't want that.  Also she told me Friday that she accidentally left some chocolate snack things on a bookcase (I think she meant to take them with her)  I couldn't get there before the sitter so she just called them to pick them up.

I've never had cats get into candy but you never know and my mom's cautious about it.   So it turned out the sitter just put them on the kitchen table!  I knew I should have put them away when I got there, but didn't because well.. I didn't really think the cats would get into them and 2.  I didn't want the sitter to know I was there.    Anyway I talked to mom later and she is upset that they just put the stuff on the table -- that isn't "out of reach"  as she instructed.   Also I told her the bowl was totally full and Bella (the cat) is supposed to only have 1/4 a cup of food.  It has to be monitored.   It looks like she (the cat) doesn't like the weekend sitter much either.   Oh well mom will be back Monday.

After Church I went to treat myself at Red Lobster.    I had a general gift card from Christmas.  :)
But there was an hour wait!  :faints:   So I put my name on the list and went home.  I'm only 10 min away.   I completed an order for a futon as a guest bed, relaxed a bit and headed back over.   I was almost there when I realized that I didn't put my wallet back into my fanny pack after I had taken it out to get to my credit card to order the futon.   So I had to go back and get it.

Once there I ordered the special 4 course dinner for 15 and a chocolate milk.  I ate the soup, 1/2 the salad, 1/2 the shrimp and took the rest (and the dessert - a brownie)  home.     The waitress came and helped me box everything up and I bagged it.   I was ready to go when it hit me.   They forgot a crucial component.  .... the check!.  So I put my coat on and waited.  and waited.... and waited... and gave up and went up to the front.   But this restaurant unlike some others (ie village inn)  didn't have a cash register in the front so we had to find the waitress.   I think I just didn't wait long enough.  However, when I'm with my parents generally we get the check BEFORE we get boxes.

So now I'm home posting in my blog.  :D   and listening to the wind rattling through my fireplace and outside.... AGAIN.

Night.
